Unicycle + Juggling – 20% Project Week 6

My name is Graham and for my twenty percent project I chose juggling while riding a unicycle. I chose this as my skill because my uncle bought me a unicycle for Christmas and I wanted to learn how to ride it. This was my last week to learn the unicycle for the project but I was unable to do it because of two problems. One my coach changed the practice and games a week from four to six so I had much less time to work on this and the second reason I was unable to conquer this skill is because riding a unicycle is actually really hard. I kept fall over and over and over again and eventually ran out of time to finish this. One thing I had to adjust to even come close to doing this is fix my work habits. My procrastination often got the better of me and I ended up just sitting down after practices instead of riding the unicycle so I had to start trying harder. But even after I did fix that I didn’t even have enough time to finish the project and I failed.

Favorite School Memories

School is not always ideal. It starts too early, and is often boring. But sometimes you can make good memories there. Like one of my favorite memories when my robotics group won two out of the three competitions. I was very happy with our robot and how it did. Another great memory I had at school was with two of my friends. They came to my house for a pool party, and it was a great time. My next fond memory was when I used to bike around with my friends after school and we always had a great time.

Rad Reading – April

My rad reading book for this month was The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa. The plot for this story is basically a continuation of the last book. This is the third book in the series in this book a human girl, named Meghan Chase, was banished from faery land with her boyfriend after she saved it. She saves her dad from a crazy faery girl who kidnapped him and find out that the current iron king is an imposter and needs to be stopped. I think that this book had a lot of good parts but I think the coolest part is when they go to live in this awesome invisible cabin by a creek that’s basically my dream house. There are also a lot of good characters but my favorite one is Puck. Puck is my favorite because he always uses funny yet passive aggressive comments to break tension. A quote that well demonstrates this is. Like on page 305 when Meghan is ordering them to go to sleep after a days worth of hiking Puck says “My, aren’t we bossy today,”

My favorite quote is probably at the very end on page 359 when Meghan says, “My name is Meghan Chase, and I am the Iron Queen.” This is my favorite quote because it ends off the book on a high note because Meghan has just established a new kingdom and is very interesting.

Unicycle + Juggling – 20% Project Week 5

My name is Graham, and my twenty percent project is learning how to juggle while riding a unicycle. I learned how to juggle on the second week of this project but learning how to ride a unicycle is a lot more of a tedious process. It’s a lot harder then riding a bike because on a bike you can only fall in two directions but on a unicycle you can fall in four directions which is really all I’m struggling with but it is a major struggle. Last week I made tons of progress in riding across half of my backyard but this week I made no progress on riding it. What I have to adjust is my work habits with baseball six days a week for three hours it’s hard to find time but I still have to try to accomplish this. So from now on all free time will be dedicated to this project.

How Much To Be Satisfied.

Some people are privileged and need so much to be happy but others can be happy with just the little things. The image above demonstrates this well because the boy on the left has so many toys, and games, and a tv, but is still crying because he doesn’t have enough, but the boy on the right all he has is a toy car made out of popsicle sticks, but it looks like he’s having the best time of his life. So it would be better if everyone just started being happier with less things.

Unicycle + Juggling – 20% Project Week 4

My name is Graham, and for my twenty percent project, I am learning how to juggle while riding a unicycle. After already learning how to juggle weeks ago by switching my whole juggling technical from two balls to three and the different tech inches that came with it, and also facing problems last week with riding the cycle. This week was the week I finally learned how to ride the unicycle. My main struggle was that the goal that I set was too high and was not achievable. My first goal was to get from one side of my yard to the other in one night which there was no way I could do that. Then I switched to my second goal, making it half way to my original goal and I was finally able to do it. The overall adjustment I had to make was with my goals. I had to make goals I could accomplish not ones I couldn’t.

My Favorite Room

My favorite room in my house is the kitchen. The first reason that the kitchen is my favorite room is there is always something to eat. Our cupboards and fridge is always full so there is always something good. The second reason why it’s my favorite room is it’s connected to our living room so you can be in the kitchen while still being able to watch tv. The final reason why the kitchen is my favorite room is because I like to cook with my dad. My favorite thing to cook is farfalle pasta with kielbasa and Alfredo sauce.

Unicycle + Juggling – 20% Project Week 3

My name is Graham, and for my twenty percent project, I choose learning how to juggle while unicycling as my skill to learn, because of coarse I did. Honestly the task has been daunting. Not really the juggling part, that part was easy, the hard part was the unicycling. It was already hard enough learning how to ride the stupid thing but I also had to do it with six practices a week for three hours, AND BOY SCOUTS, but finally this week I conquered the unicycle. Of coarse not really I can’t even ride it without some kind of wall but it was progress. Next week was supposed to be the week I learn how to add in the juggling part but I doubt I will be ready for that by he time that I have to start, so I will likely just keep riding the cycle until it’s easy.

Unicycle + Juggling – 20% Project Week 2

My name is Graham, for my twenty percent project I decided that I wanted to learn how to juggle while riding a unicycle. I picked this as my twenty percent project because my uncle gave me a unicycle for Christmas, and I really wanted to learn how to ride it instead of just leaving it in my dusty garage. Last week I successfully learned how to juggle with three balls instead of two, but I was having more trouble this week with something else. This week was one of the two weeks I gave myself to learn how to ride the unicycle, but I couldn’t even keep myself stable on it, and now I have to adjust my whole schedule because of this week because I couldn’t even keep myself balanced. I’m hoping next week I can do much better on riding the unicycle because if I don’t then I won’t achieve my goal.

Unicycle + Juggling – 20% Project Week 1

Hello, my name is Graham, and I decided I want my twenty percent project to be learning how to juggle while riding a unicycle. This week was a good first week because I fixed my juggling. I had to watch some YouTube videos because I already knew how to juggle two balls but three was an entirely different technic, and was significantly harder. It was a huge struggle switching from two to three balls, and I dropped the ball onto my back, and head several times before even getting through one cycle let alone starting the second, but I accomplished it while still staying on schedule. I even learned it on almost the first day I tried it, and was able to perform for my family on Easter. Next week I will start on ridding my unicycle, and think it will take two weeks to accomplish this task, but I think it would be really fun to know how to ride.
